Here are the first two videos to be posted from the footage I took this year at the Grand Prix. I have quite a bit of footage to sort through plus Dr. John sent me a flash drive with a bunch of Drone footage his son took. I suggest that anyone who has photos or videos to post them here. There are photos and video already on the forum but they are scattered around. It would be nice to see those photos and video re-posted here if possible.

I am working to process the footage nightly and there will be several videos forthcoming.

I have a nice edited 10 minute video I shot at Tieton, but I'm having trouble linking it here.

I'll try to link an earlier video of our test track.

OK, the above isn't working, but I've been fooling around linking to YouTube, and I now have the Tieton V video on YouTube, and I think I have a link.

So here we go again, once I get this figured out, I have several vids from the test rides of my build.

TIeton V, from June 2017...

Fingers crossed...

Nice video Don! I enjoyed every minute with a big old smile on my face. grinning smiley You did a good job of stringing everything together into a sweet presentation. I see where your brake caliper let go. I'll bet it happened on the short straight (between turn 4 and 5) going over that damn nasty bump, I broke a spring there last year. Nice footage out in the orchard, I rarely see myself racing around. After 3 or 4 laps in the orchard I'm wiped out and more than happy to hand off to my co-driver (Aaron did a great job!). That orchard is a ball buster! I was hanging on for dear life going down the hill!

If you would like Don you can post your build and testing photos and vids here. I would love to see them. This thread is about Tieton Coverage and getting your car ready is part of the event as I see it. By the way, you made a good showing for a rookie! thumbs up

Hey Denny, Unfortunately the Studebaker is sitting fallow. I'm rebuilding the nose to my Monocar first. I'm making good progress and making a video while I work along. This is the car that I have raced during the last four 4 seasons and I missed having it with me at Tieton. The BMW is nice and all but its not really set up for competition. I was way off the pace in every event. I still had fun though!

Great video Don! I love the screaming. It really conveys the wildness of being at speed through that orchard. Somehow the Gopro makes it appear much flatter and smoother than it is.
And a nice little duel with Al in the Grand Prix too. As you pull up with no brakes there's the Ferrari around the corner with the same ending. Awesome stuff.

Thanks guys for sharing these videos and making it feel like we 're almost there. It sure helps take away the disappointment I felt for having to miss it. Here's to next year!

About 5 pm Friday evening the Tieton Grand Prix got under way. It was an action packed 1st day with 3 events running simultaneously. Driver Test, Drag Races and Dirt Course Sprint. It appeared to me that the drivers enjoyed themselves. This was a great start to a great weekend of Cyclekarting!

Yeah Don,
Great orchard footage! Maybe it's from my old dirt bike days but the orchard's my hands down favorite race. Especially corners (I think) 3-5. When I was marshaling there was a group of guys getting some great footage of folks blasting the berms like MX bikes. I hope they post it. I think it was the Chrysler that nailed me with a dirt clod from about 15' away! Fun stuff!
And Dennis,
Excellent as always!

Does anyone know where the pro pictures are posted?

I'm looking for the ones taken Saturday night in front of the brick wall, by the hot-rod driver.

Thanks,

Hope they turn up eventually. But while my son Simon and I were waiting along that wall, some nice lady came by, took this one and texted it to us.
