Rolling chassis photos

Hey guys,
After I finished test driving my kart I removed the wood body to work on the fiber-glassing and painting. This left the rolling chassis sittin in my garage in all of it's simplistic glory. Here are a few photos I thought looked good. This represents a typical Stevenson Formula cyclekart chassis with a 66" wheelbase.

Dennis,

Thanks for posting those photos, they show how simple the Cyclekart chassis is.
What color are you planning to paint it.

Hi David,
I am still contemplating the color of the body and frame. I have been looking at photos of old race cars to get some ideas. I want something that will stand out. I saw a car from the 30's that had a green body and yellow frame and wheels that looked nice.

Thanks Jon, I appreciate the compliment. I hope you can build a kart soon as it is great fun! Start collecting components and before you know it your build will be underway. Let me know if I can help, thanks

Hey nice kart! I plan on building one of these with my brother soon when I get the money. I actually have a question for you if that's okay? I was wondering how wide the frame is. How wide is the frame at the front and at the back before it goes parallel? And how long it is parallel for after that? I just need a little guidance to get me going on this. I basically have a design drawn up but, the frame is slightly confusing to me. If you could get back to me on this i would be thankful.

Thanks, Joshua

Hello Joshua,

Actually there are no hard and fast "rules" or design specs for a cyclekart. You can build whatever you want. Some guys build karts with parallel frame rails. Some taper from rear to front.

Here is a web page from the guys that started it all with their "specs". Lots of good ideas there. Good luck!

Your design is awesome! I am currently designing my car. I believe it will kind of shaped like yours, but with more of a point on the top. Have you decided on the color yet?
