If you just want to come out and see what these fun little machines are all about, please join us.

This will be a fun race, lots of practice time on Saturday and two 15 lap heat races and one 25 lap main event on Sunday.

The track is paved, so it should be a smooth track to have some fun.

I know I will be there. I may even have an extra cyclekart for people to test drive. This race is not just another race on the Arizona Cyclekart Club list. This is our first out of state race with camping at the track. Should be a ton of fun and I hear we get free beer all weekend...that may not be true. I do know if you have all of us in one spot with our karts we will find new ways to have fun with cyclekarts. Maybe a middle of the night no lights race... I am excited to see what this track is like. If you can make it please introduce yourself and camp with us if you want. This is like our own Roadkill ziptie drags event, Steve.

If your interested make sure to let us know so we can include you in all the events that weekend. There maybe even event t-shirts, stickers and special magic race scarfs that make your cyclekart 5MPH faster.

Thanks

Yes. It seems that the quarter midget racers have taken it over.

This is a 1/5 mile paved oval track.

There are only 3 race groups scheduled to run, so we should be able to get lots of track time especially on Saturday.

The Cyclekarts are the featured race, Jeffrey Hobbs, the track organizer is planning to build a Cyclekart.

This will be fun to have an Arizona VS. Nevada race. Any other racers in other states want to join us?

Steve

Last weekend we had a great time running laps at The Boulder City Speedway. The Las Vegas Quarter Midget Racing Club hosted the weekend. They were great folks and welcomed us with open arms. The track was very nice. They used to race 1/4 scale RC cars there but once a new track in Vegas opened up this track was basically abandoned. The owner of the property worked out a deal with the racing club to run the go-carts and it is a perfect venue for their club and Cyclekarts. It cost us $45 for the weekend and we ran close to 100 laps over the two days.

Attending the event:

Steve Vinson - Model T
Stevie Joe Vinson - Monowasp
Dennis Thomas - BMW
Carlos Carneiro - Bugatti

Here is a video report:

Do you know what speed was achieved?

Was there much braking for the corners?

Hopefully this will encourage a full field for future events.

Thanks for the video.

Steve Vinson hit 29 mph and the BMW made it to 25 mph. Carlos probably made it to 32 mph (I'm guessing)

I was using the brakes going into the corner. I didn't want to push the BMW too hard as it is a heavy car and the right rear wheel was taking all the load.

Steve and Carlos were driving more aggressively and the cars seemed to handle the stress just fine. I'm not sure if they were using the brakes.

Hello Denis,
For sure that all of you have great fun!

For mention speeds - are that maximum speeds registered somewhere on track or average speed for a circle?

Another mystery for me: where is Bugatti - I couldn't see anything like that?

Ciao,
Zoran

2nd Place, Steve Vinson, Viscount Vinson Model T Ford Special
3rd Place, Dennis Thomas, 1930 BMW

Carlos drives harder than anyone else and took the win easily. I decided to back off after Carlos pulled ahead by half a track.

The fist heat race was very close, I won by a nose, I saw a video, Carlos almost pulled off a last second victory...I had no idea it was that close.
