There is.
Busted a spoke on the qualifying runs with no spare and missed the race,
only to find Allen had some extras all along, but didn't know my situation.
BRING EXTRA SPOKES! It's too easy to pop a few on the oval and easy enough to fix IF, you
BRING EXTRA SPOKES!

And clean out your clutch workings if you tear up a belt too, which is just common sense really,
but something I was apparently lacking last night. That's why you won't see me in the road rally video
either.

It's too soon to talk about either episode in detail just yet.

Sorry to hear!
I assumed you ran into some kind of mechanical failure.
We would have been out early in the Orchard at Tieton this year if Steve V would not have had a spare rear wheel with him.
As after two heats we had broken 8 spokes in the right rear wheel.eye rolling smiley Good thing Steve checked before starting the 3rd heat!confused smiley
SPARE WHEEL allowed hime to finish the Campbell cup races, and also compete in the Hillclimb.thumbs up
There is always going to be a next time, and this is a great learning curve for us!!
Good Roads
Brian
PS
I am dying to hear about the Sunday morning Rally!

Thanks for posting the photos and pics Jason. We really had fun racing, shut down temporarily for rain, but then went out sliding in the mud and had even more fun. I'm trying to retrieve some stubborn gopro video and will post if successful. My knock off TAV clutch blew apart early on, luckily Tony had an extra for me. Inspection revealed that the drive unit bolt had sheared off, sending my clutch parts down the track ahead of me. (I wonder how much of your cart has to cross the finish line to mark your time?!). So another extra part to pack, in addition to spokes and maybe an extra rear wheel, is an extra clutch, or at least drive bolt (Comet TAV2 30 Series Drive Unit Bolt 5/16-24 x 2"winking smiley. Although we didn't get a huge turnout, it was a very successful first annual event, lots of fun racing, really nice memorial bonfire for Greg Iverson, a great time camping, and a fun and fast 4 mile back road loop around the neighborhood and through the fields (good mix of paved and pretty rough dirt road). on Sun. All in all, a fantastic weekend. I'm looking forward to see you all again Sept 8. John

Here is a link to some beautiful photos and video that Valerie took and posted..my very favorite is Al's cackling around minute 1'20" in the 4'16" video: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNCaj4sbXMG1LE0SVreIP-rAJEN2n7mOW3wS-VpPj38veRHQiwrWSPtEEhi6AuArg?key=SmdqMWFYYW5sV2didE1pR3NRLVJSaXIxdUpVVk1R

What's with all the broken spokes? Original wheels or the copies?
