Another heat.

I see that the third photo in the previous post should have been with this race.

I found that If I set the camera on "sport" and hold the button down it will click off a series of shots.

They lined the cars up on the side street after they did the drag race.

There was a relay race that was a two lap deal and then the rains came and did they ever come.

One shot shows the Mighty Tieton building that is host to the racers and the other shows the rain running off the rood of the building across the street. It had been raining less than five minutes at that time. I was just putting my chair and camera bag in the trunk when it really hit.

I'll work on getting most of of the 431 photos up on Smugmug but it will take some time. A number of them are sequence shots of some of the carts making the first turn that show the line they took.

Thanks for posting those pix Robert. The huge number of CK enthusiasts
across the country and abroad wait all year to hear about this meet. Most
of the guys with Karts are to busy to post any up dates during the meet.
Between your pictures and those in the Yakima Herald, I counted only 20 karts.
Does that sound about right????
That's sort of disappointing considering all the guys that have been building
Cyclekarts this year.....many who are within easy driving distance of Tieton.
With the relaxed rules for the number of entries that Dave spoke about last month,
I fully expected at least twice as many competitors to show up.
Heck, the Phoenix boys are drawing nearly that many karts at their local
get together.
Could the interest in the "Tieton Grand Prix" be on the wane?

I believe the count this year was 20 cars... not all raced on sat.

Seems to have been a lot of chain problems this year. One cracked engine case, a few mufflers cracked. I think that was about it.

Two VKC karts were up & ran, several new this year karts and a few from last year that received serious makeovers.

Sat had the Grand Prix in town, drag races & the noodle race. Sunday had orchard running & a king of the hill climb.

I didn't actually count but 20 sounds pretty accurate. My computer decided to do a Windows 10 update this morning and we went down to my son's this afternoon for one of the best steaks I have ever eaten in my 71 years. I'll try to get the rest loaded on smugmug in the next few days. My internet is painfully slow so it will take a while.

I didn't crop or alter any of the photos because at this event the people are just as important as the cars in a lot of respects. Normally at car shows I crop a lot of people or cars out to maintain the subject of the photo.

It was a really fun afternoon until the rain came. That wasn't just a rain it rivaled any Texas gully washer I was ever in when I lived there.

Thanks, great photos! I've been pining away here, unable to make it this year and dying for some news..It looks as fun as ever. It seems the craftsmanship is stepping up each year. John
