Just a short update. Work travel and getting ready for winter have been keeping me busy. I have been trying to come up with a body plan using cardboard. Pics below are Revision 3. The seat top will eventually be curved to match the cowl. I will probably go with plywood - except maybe aluminum for the curved hood (need to check the price of aluminum sheeting locally).
Thanks for all the encouraging posts. Forum is great !

Probably 5052, bends alot better than 6061, when making sharp bends remember to have the grain perpindicular to bend for best strength
OP,
I really like the lines of your cardboard body, looks good...just slather it with resin and call it good

I guess!!!!.....that was a good price.........a 4'x4' sheet from McMaster Carr
will run ya nearly $80 +shipping. Wish I had your supplier around me Brian.
Watch out for the bend radius. To sharp of a bend will crack most all aluminum
except for 1100 dead soft. Here's a good chart to hang next to your brake:
http://www.cumberlandmetals.com/aluminum/minimum-bend-radii/
Adjust your radius by bending some thin sheet or sheets to give you the desired
radius and keep them between the part you are bending and the nose of the clamp bar.
