Ice Racer got pedals today!
And to answer the 19" question......this option never occurred to me until I went out to the shop
this morning. As I was moving CK parts around in the mess I have going on out there!
I saw the 19" wheel I had pulled out of my tire and wheel storage room for my "Drift Trike"
project (that I have yet to start) and realized that it had the knobby Tires I want and need for studying.
AND....I have two matching ones.
Then it dawned on me......why buy more rims and tires for the Ice racer that I might get to use "once"
a year???? in a non sanctioned event. And if there is snow in the lake, it might be nice to rain the
CK up an inch! So, now I will have studded 19" wheels and tires for winter play, and mount up my extra
set of really nice 17" tires on my new rims for Summer Dirt Oval racing!
How is that for a plan?

Now.....that's a plan!!!! Ya got a wheel storage room??? Now that's organization if I ever heard of it!

People ask me all the time about the mess I'm gonna leave behind. "Hey Dennis, who's gonna get rid
of all this junk you've collected when you go??? So I tell them, "Don't cha worry about it......I ain't goin
for another 24 years.
But it looks like you're gonna have to stick around for another 50 years to clean out all those rooms
you've been hording "stuff" in, Woody.

Speaking of off Stevenson-wheels and tires, I've got this buddy, who has these 4 Harley wheels and tires that
he's been trying to get rid of. And I think about taking them every time I look at Dave Baird's Goliath.
I even went out and bought me a V-twin Predator soon after seeing pictures of his kart/car.
But.....I don't know where I'd store them.....cuz I don't have a "Wheel Storage" room here at Shangri La.

I went to the shop with good intentions, both yesterday and today!
But got side tracked by the MGA again.
So tonight when the clock struck midnight in the shop for the second day in a row,
I thought I had better do at least on thing on the CycleKart??
So, I welded the skid plate on that I made on Sunday.......it will give the Ice Racer a
toboggan effect if I encounter a snow drift or two.
Now I am in for my nightly cup of tea before bed.

After three weeks of distractions, I finally got back to the CycleKart Shop and got reacquainted with my
Ice Racer Project.
Thought I had better get back at it before winter is gone?
After staring at I for about an hour, I realized I had started to over think this project.
So I decided not try and make it the "Fastest CK", or the Lightest CK, or the most Period Correct CK,
or even the Prettiest CK........I want it to just be a "FUN" CK.
so I hauled the welder up to the CK shop and just started welding.
Planning a big day tomorrow!

Finally made my motor placement, TAV clocking, and wheelbase decision today also!

Sometimes it pays to put the blinders on and focus on just one task at a time.
At lest I'm finding that to be true now that I'm no longer capable of multitasking
like in my youth.

Multi Tasking is my MO!

I started cutting everything off the new frame (constructed from Ducati Shipping Crate) that
"did not" look like an Ice Racer!

More similarities between us once again Brian. That's the way I've
been building things my whole adult life.....just cut away everything
that doesn't look like a Cyclekart and after some time......you've end
up with a Cyclekart. At least, that's the way it worked for the
two airplanes I built.
A warm beverage, a belly full of porridge, now out to the barn.

Thought I'd move over here rather than clutter up Mikes thread.
Sometimes I just simply get more done if I clear my mind of all
the projects or tasks that are waiting to be tackled and just focus
on one thing. I think you're right on track with the ice racer. It's
sounds like if you just devoted all the effort to it that would be
on job you could check off the list. Stands to reason, unless
you have a furnace that will keep up with the spray booth, that
the painting can wait for a better day. If it's all prepped then
shooting the paint on is just a matter of minutes.
The Miller has a few months to go before it's coming out party.
Now......some of those other things you're involved in, like the
Teardrops might, after years of involvement, might have to be
put on hold. Life's just full of choices and we should choose those
that give us the most pleasure.
And with that.....I'm back out to the barn.....which is getting colder and colder
by the hour. But I do have some heat going and what the heck...I'll just
man-up, put a jacket on and stand by the fire every once in a while.
I surely won't be going anywhere tomorrow, with the Ice Storm forecast
overnight, so if we don't loose power, I'll get another full day in the shop.

All you need's the ice now.
It's starting here.....but not on the lakes, ponds and streams....it's
coming down from a few thousand feet up.
I just ran out to the gas station to top off all my cans. Heavy ice
out here always means we're gonna have down lines and long
power outages.

It's a little too cold on the patio for any kind of visit right now.

I had two 14 hour days at work and did see lot o' ice, so there still is that possibility.
