So I thought I’d stop’ by the Greasy Spoon tonight for a visit with my friends
…and others.
I did walk past the Riley today and stopped briefly to ponder my Cyclkart’s future.
I’ve been cutting and splitting wood all week and took a break yesterday afternoon
to clear the yard of branches. Last weekend we had a BIG wind blow in from
our neighbors north of the 49th, and it did a fine job of pruning all the dead tree
branches. Also with nearly 100 trees on the property, I’m looking forward to
spending the next couple of weeks corralling the leaf drop.
During my six hour clean up this afternoon, I was thinkin’ ‘bout all this work I took on
since I moved out here in 2012. It sure does suck up a lot of my build time for all the
projects I’ve got going and have planned out thar in the barn.
But then…..tonight as I shut down the Briggs on the log splitter, take a perch on a
downed log with a cool one in hand and watch the sun sink slowly behind the trees
beyond the pasture, I think…..what a lucky guy I am to have finally found Shangri la,
even if it was in the Autumn of my life.

With you there Denny!
Two nights ago I too took the Camera out for a walk about as the shadows were getting long, and the
last (4th of the year) crop of hay was baled and the John Deere pot away.
Got some great shots....I which I will share a couple.
Had a couple of my toys out of the barn at the time.
Brian

That sure is purdy Brian, especially with the fall colors. Love the mountains in the back ground.
Yep, we sure are lucky. I look back on the past half century when I had neighbors so close
I could here them snoring at night, really nice to go to sleep with the yippin' of the coyotes
in stead.
I just so happened to be surfing the web and ran across a picture from back sometime in
the mid 70's of Brian Woods and Darrel Brunt, members of VCCC twisting wrenches on
a model 'A' Ford. Haven't heard you mention the VCCC, are you still active in that also????
Man you sure have a lot on the stove, where do you find the time to sleep?????
Well, Old Blue is tellin' me we gotta get goin' up town for coffee and a sweetie.
I done got the heat turned up in the barn and maybe I can get a little somethin' done out
there before sun up. Soon as the frost is off I need to stack wood and bring a load inside.
Have a good day,
Denny Graham

Wow!
Where did you find that picture on the internet?
I have it on the wall of my office as it appeared n the local newspaper promoting our
Annual Car Show in the mall.
That was my Model A Roadster Chassis.........my first restoration!
300 + have gone under the bridge since then.
Thanks for the reminder Denny.
Time to get back to work.

That's our boy Vince, din't post thsy picture, cuz I was simply aiming to bring back
a memory to the old timer. But thanks for posting his mug in your reply. Were any
of us ever that young??????
My catch up day has turned into a catch up week. I got so much to do round here
and just can't seem to find the motivation to get going on any of it.
I think I might be suffering from a bout with that old demon, depression. My only
companion all week has been our old mutt. She requires a lot of attention, which
really doesn't give me much time in between. So I'm spending most of the time
available at my desk, in the class room, aka, the internet and youtube, feeding
my brain.
Well.....at least it's not been an entire waste of a week, I've learnt a lot of new
things.

Yes Vince and Denny..........I was 23 in that picture, and in much better shape than I am now. That VCCC T shirt I was wearing is
2 sizes smaller than the ones I wear these days.
Finished that Model A in less time than it has taken me to build my CK (that is still not finished) I owned that car for about 17 years after
that picture was taken, and drove all over the PNW and Western Canada.
Brian
See I am already inspired to sneak back out to the shop tonight and put a couple of hours in on the CK (as soon as my knee is rested).eye rolling smiley
