I'm intrigued. There is a science behind wood as structural supports. Ash is certainly a strong choice. I need to find where I squirreled the structural info on wood types. Glued laminated beams were rated higher than any standard wood such as Ash, Oak, or Maple.Quarter Ellipticals ? Beautiful leaf mounts that I need to know where they came from.Your frame is a work of art. FWIW Louisville Slugger museum offers custom monogrammed bats that might be worked into your project.

Thanks. I think that you're right about the strength of laminated beams. If my current rails break, I could try gluing up the same shape from two or more strips. The springs are straight bar, 5160 steel that I plan to harden to about RC48, unless someone suggests otherwise. The mounts I made from 6061; they're painted flat black.
