Well it has been a long time since updating the AAR Special progress. As always my gratitude to goes to my friend and engineer Darryl whose work is what you see here. Features that have been added is the twin hydraulic brake cylinders, period styled pedal assembly, installation of the rack & pinion steering including the fully engineered front axle. The king pins are not bushed but contain roller and thrust bearings along with stylised gussets and steering arms; and near completion of the dri...
AAR Special - May Update

I'll make this a short entry regarding progress on the hubs. The problem was I had acquired four splined rear hubs which has presented a couple of cost and engineering challenges to suit a CycleKart. We can do this approach as we'll be using a differential. To achieve this we have had to place the 'out...

In summary I acquired four splined rear hubs, good for consistent look but presents some engineering cost challenges. Anyway my good friend Darryl has come through with the goods again! The solution we arrived at was to leave the rear hubs alone and have the axles splined (we are using a differential) whilst the 'fro...

Progress has been slowed somewhat as I've been away with work and Darryl and his talented son Taylor have been busy preparing numerous super-karts for the Queensland (Australia) racing session. The biggest event over the last quarter has been the theft of the custom built GX200 from the workshop. Darryl had constructed a custom manifold, oil tank and exhaust system, so very disappointin...
