Well the Burd Piston Ring Special updates has started. This is my second Cyclekart going to the Spokane Speed and Custom Show next month. I’ll update progress as I go. Comments welcome I might not respond vary quickly as this is head down and go in order to get it finished in time. As you may know this was originally built by Dennis Backstrom who gave me my first opportunity to drive a Cyclekart in 2016 different Cyclekart his Hudson but really got me going. Thanks Dennis!

What are the round metal things on the first photo?
Some kind of magnetic Clecos for temporarily fastening paneling before it's welded/soldered?

You answered your own question. Those are used very often in manufacturing to hold clip boards of notes, any metal surface has your notes handy.

So was #23 wrecked in a racing incident?? Because of the use of magnets, this body is obviously steel and not aluminum. Are steel bodied CKs common?

Hi Bob
Not that common, due to weight!
Aluminum is 1/3 the weight of steel of the same size I believe.

Bob, the Burd was built from , I think, fenders as a mental exercise. I drove it at Tieton and it was ball of fun. There is a build thread on here way back, over 4 years ago. Look for Denbob.

I put pictures in my registry of Dennis's build and some I took when I purchased it. There is really nothing wrong with it I just want to refresh the look.

Brian,
Yet to be undermanned how and where. Have some ideas but not sure how to accomplish and not disturb the overall look.

I am that exact point right now.
The Millers had beautiful "Smooth" tails. that housed only the gas tank.
Now face with look vs function with my replicated Miller CK.confused smiley
