Hi guys, I bought new chromed wheels but will be painting them black. I know paint doesn’t stick to chrome too well, so what’s the best method? I’m thinking a light sand blast to rough up the chrome before priming? Or is a chemical dip better?

Thanks for any advice,
Bob

Ya'll got it right the first time Bob, light media blasting will give enough tooth
to the surface for the paint to bond to.

I just spray bombed mine, looks vintage when the paint chips off a little.

S'all for now!

I'll bet your drawn to the Rat Rods also aren't cha Vic?
I'm kind of partial to things that look new, but a 'little' patina would
kind of fit the well worn 20's race car image.
