There's an idea!
We should establish a new builders forum. We've got cycleKarts.
We've got custom karts. Maybe the time has come for the creation of
the RUBE kart category. Prerequisite, as Woody points out, is that they look like crap. Karts built strictly with items found in a landfill. No welding. No glue. No fasteners of any kind other than those salvaged from said
dump. And they must be assembled out of doors, using only a claw hammer, a pipe wrench, and one's teeth
the only permissible tools!

Ah ha!!!!! The 'Rat Rod Cyclekart' forum, right Dave?
Well said Brian. I very often get the reaction you speak
of from guys that meet me for the first time. They simply
don't understand that it's taken my 75 year life time of
collecting tools and skills to get me and my shop to the
point I'm at now. I consider my self a "Jack of All Trades"
and I'm certainly well aware that I'm a master of none
of them but I've tried to learn a bit about everything there
is to know around me....and ....I'm learning something new
every day. As you've said, it keeps you young and interested in life.
So I'm 3/4 of the way to Valhalla with another 25 to go before
I join up with Odin. When I hang up my sword and shop apron
then....maybe then......I can claim the title of "know it all."

Yes Al, I agree.
And I am sorry I got sucked Into this discussion on your thread.
We should get back on track here, with the promotion of the Spokane Car Show.
This is such a wonderful opportunity to introduce CycleKarting to the "Automotive Enthusiasts" that will attend this event.
Car people think they are aware of most forms of automotive activity, but CycleKarting is still very new and most of us are un aware.
We need this exposure!

Well all I have to say is....Brian, you must really be hooked, cuz that trip
from Westbank to Spokane is a bout twice as far as mine would be from
Sandwich, IL to Indy. I use to make that trip each year the week before
the 500 when I was a wee lad. Had a buddy that got us pit passes every
year, I doubt that would be possible now a days.
It would take an act of Congress now to get me to drive it to show my Cyclekart.

Sorry Al. Just throwing a bone to Brian's frustration.
If I didn't have a hard commitment in Seattle on Friday I would be there with you guys.
Of course none of us wants to see shoddy work exhibited. But to show a range of complexity, from the simplest plywood monocoque, using a very limited workshop, to the full metal project, using full size automobile construction techniques, IS an accurate reflection of the hobby. I don't think Brian should conceal his work, just because there may not be a contrasting basic type being shown along side it.

By the way I sent the display plan layout to Brian Anderson with 3 karts and we are a go. There will be an 12" elevation change from the front toward the back.

Brian,
I do need the Vehicle Display Application filled out and sent back to me. I'll deliver it with my other kart application so they will know you are displaying yours with my 2 karts.

Hi Al
The first time I tried to open the reg form I was unable to do so.
So I went to the link you sent, and hit Register.
Gave them the info that was asked for (not much)
But now I have seen the Actual form, I see there is a lot more.
I just printed it.
But reading the small print....they ask that they must receive it 30 days in advance.
Showis 31 days away, so mailing it to you at this point will not work.
Can we do this online??
Please PM me or email.
Thanks
Brian
