Like so. Such a cool prospect, but then I've been quietly nursing aspirations to build something with a working valvegear on a fake motor... Oh Bother! Just realised I'm posting 'Inspirations' in the 'Drawings' thread, creating more drift, sorry. Anyway, there's now a Schasche thread. Back to regular programing.

Guys.
Could we please reduce the conversations in the stickie threads.
It will make it a little hard for future builders to sort through to find the critical information for their builds.
Please feel free to start new threads as they are free. So maybe start a chain drive thread.
Also don't for get we can all post other non-CK topics in the Off Topic forum.
Thanks
David

There are no cookie cutter plans for CKs. The Stevenson formula provides some info on wheel base, track, and engine Hp and if you look around you will find the reasoning behind using the Honda wheels and the variable ratio drive instead of a single go kart clutch. If you search around the CK tech column you will find many different examples of how builders designed specific parts of their carts each cart is an original. That is a large part of he charm of the sport. the Gittreville site has many examples of different carts that fit within the spirit if not the exact letter of the originalSteven son formula. At times you may find lengthy discussions on rear suspensions and differentials. Resist the urge to go down this road and stick with the 1"X3" frame rails with live rear axle and suspension on the front axle onlybuild your body with the material of your choice, wood, fiberglass, aluminum, etc.
